Like the iPhone, there are many rumors about a glass exterior for the iPad 3. Since the fifth generation iPod Nano already has a glass backing, it should not be too hard for Apple to incorporate it into the iPad 3.
Since tablets like the Google Nexus S already have a curved glass backing, Apple is in a hurry to incorporate it into the new iPad.
Since a glass backing is a part of Apple’s design for mobile products (the iPhone), it makes a lot of sense for them to add into in the new iPads’ design.
As new tablets come out by the day, people are starting to question whether or not the iPad 3 will be able to compete anymore, and with a glass backing, Apple just gets one step closer to victory.
